JAKARTA — Minister of Investment and Downstream Industries/Head of BKPM Rosan Perkasa Roeslani announced that investment realisation in the first quarter of 2025 reached Rp465.2 trillion, a 15.9% year-on-year increase compared with the Q1 2024 figure of Rp401.5 trillion.

Rosan stated that the Q1 2025 investment realisation was in line with the target set by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) for the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industries.

This year's total investment target stands at Rp1,905.6 trillion. In Q1 2025, investment realisation reached nearly a quarter of that target, at 24.4%.

"Thank God, investment in this first quarter is in line with the target set by Bappenas for us," Rosan said during a press conference at the Presidential Office, Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday evening.

The Rp465.2 trillion realisation comprised foreign direct investment (PMA) of Rp230.4 trillion and domestic investment (PMDN) of Rp234.8 trillion.

Domestically, the largest investment came from outside Java, totalling Rp235.9 trillion or 50.9% of the total Q1 2025 investment realisation, whilst Java accounted for Rp229.3 trillion, or 49.3%.

"These are very encouraging figures. They also demonstrate the confidence of both the international community and domestic investors in investing in Indonesia, which remains well maintained, as we all know that investment is a long-term commitment," said the Investment Minister.

Rosan added that the long-term commitment of investors had grown because they had confidence in the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto. "They see that under President Prabowo's leadership, stability is maintained," he continued.

Employment Absorption

On the same occasion, Rosan also highlighted another significant achievement from the Q1 2025 investment realisation: employment absorption over the past three months.

"Most importantly is the employment absorption. From this first quarter, the employment generated by the Rp465.2 trillion investment totalled 594,104 people, an increase of 8.5% from the previous year," Rosan said.

Rosan announced the Q1 2025 investment realisation after reporting the achievement to President Prabowo Subianto at the Palace on Wednesday afternoon.
