Indonesia's Q1 2025 Investment Reaches Rp465.2 Trillion, Up 15.9 Per Cent Year-on-Year
Jakarta – The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) recorded that investment realisation in the first quarter of 2025 reached Rp465.2 trillion, rising 15.9 per cent year-on-year compared with Rp401.5 trillion in Q1 2024.
Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani said Q1 2025 investment realisation was in line with the target set by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) for his ministry.
"The investment in Q1 2025 is in line with the target set by Bappenas for us, out of a total investment target for 2025 of Rp1,905.6 trillion. In Q1 2025, investment that has come in, been realised and disbursed amounted to Rp465.2 trillion, or approximately 24.4 per cent," Rosan said in Jakarta on 23 April.
The Rp465.2 trillion comprised foreign direct investment (PMA) of Rp230.4 trillion and domestic investment (PMDN) of Rp234.8 trillion.
Domestically, the largest share of investment came from outside Java at Rp235.9 trillion, equivalent to 50.9 per cent of total Q1 2025 investment realisation, whilst Java accounted for Rp229.3 trillion or 49.3 per cent.
"These are very encouraging figures. They also demonstrate that confidence from both the international community and domestically in investing in Indonesia remains strong, because as we all know, investment is a long-term commitment," he explained.
According to Rosan, the long-term commitment of investors has grown because they have confidence in the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto. "They see that under President Prabowo's leadership, stability is maintained," he said.
Rosan emphasised that another important achievement from Q1 2025 investment realisation was job creation over the past three months, which reached 594,104 workers, an increase of 8.5 per cent from the previous year.
"The most important thing is the employment absorption. So from the investment reaching Rp465.2 trillion, we successfully absorbed 594,104 workers into employment," he concluded.
