JAKARTA – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reports that Indonesia’s export performance for February 2026 still recorded positive growth amid global escalations.

In its presentation, the export value reached $22.17 billion, up 1.01% from the same period last year at $21.94 billion.

Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics at BPS, Ateng Hartono, stated that this growth was driven by increased exports of several flagship commodities, particularly from the processing industry sector.

In detail, the processing industry sector remains the main contributor to national exports with a value of $18.55 billion.

Meanwhile, the mining and other sectors contributed $2.15 billion, and agriculture, forestry, and fisheries amounted to $390 million.

In terms of annual growth, processing industry exports increased by 5.24% compared to February 2025. In contrast, the mining and other sectors experienced a contraction of 18.16%, while agriculture, forestry, and fisheries fell by 31.45%.

Several commodities supporting the performance of processing industry exports include nickel, crude palm oil (CPO), four-wheeled or more motor vehicles, organic basic chemicals based on agricultural products, as well as semiconductors and electronic components.

Thus, the automotive sector becomes one of the important contributors showing significant export performance.

Annually, exports of domestically produced cars also surged 26.6% compared to February 2025, which was 36,789 units.

By brand, Toyota became the largest exporter with 16,859 units, followed by Daihatsu with 11,844 units, and Mitsubishi Motors with 8,710 units. Other brands such as Hyundai, Suzuki, and Honda also contributed to exports.

Not only in completely built-up (CBU) form, exports in the form of completely knocked down (CKD) also experienced an increase. In February 2026, CKD exports were recorded at 7,898 set units, up 30.8% from January 2026 at 6,036 set units.

Positive performance is also reflected in automotive component exports. In February 2026, component exports reached 16,597,457 pieces, up 33.6% monthly and surging 54% year-on-year (yoy).
