Indonesia's Prabowo says state budget protects public welfare
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said the state budget serves as a tool to protect the people and ensure public welfare.
“The state budget is not merely a state financial document. It is the embodiment of our struggle as a nation, a tool to protect the people, and an instrument to strengthen the foundations of the national economy,” he said.
Prabowo made the remarks while presenting the government’s Macroeconomic Framework and Fiscal Policy Principles (KEM-PPKF) during a House of Representatives (DPR) plenary session in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He said the state budget also serves as a means to ensure public welfare and guide the nation’s future direction.
“With that understanding, we are drafting the budget as a shared commitment to realizing the noble ideals mandated by our Constitution,” he said.
During the session, he outlined key fiscal assumptions for 2027, including state revenue, spending, and the budget deficit.
