Indonesia's Naturalisation Costs Highest in ASEAN

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The estimated cost of naturalisation to become an Indonesian citizen is the highest compared to other countries in Southeast Asia. According to Seasia Stats on Wednesday (29/7/2026), the cost of naturalisation in Indonesia reaches US$4,187.61, or approximately Rp75.71 million. This figure far exceeds other ASEAN countries on the list.

The second position is occupied by the Philippines at around US$3,314.48, followed by Thailand at US$325.45. Meanwhile, Singapore and Malaysia recorded much lower costs. The estimated naturalisation cost in Singapore is US$139.37, while Malaysia is only around US$75.81.

Here is the list of estimated naturalisation costs in several ASEAN countries:

• Indonesia: US$4,187.61 → approximately Rp75.71 million

• Philippines: US$3,314.48 → approximately Rp59.92 million

• Thailand: US$325.45 → approximately Rp5.88 million

• Singapore: US$139.37 → approximately Rp2.52 million

• Malaysia: US$75.81 → approximately Rp1.37 million
