Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Ministry of Defence (Kemhan) has agreed to establish cooperation in the field of defence and military technology with the Government of Sudan. The cooperation was marked by a meeting between Indonesian Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and Sudan’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Yassir Mohamed Ali, at the Kemhan Building in Jakarta on Tuesday (21/4). In an official press release from Kemhan in Jakarta on Thursday, the two met as part of a courtesy call by Yassir Mohamed Ali. “Both parties discussed strengthening defence cooperation based on the principle of mutual benefit, including opportunities in the defence industry, the establishment of a formal cooperation framework, and plans for field reviews,” as quoted in the press release. They also discussed potential cooperation in enhancing the quality of human resources (HR) through joint military education. The meeting took place in a warm atmosphere, indicating that bilateral relations between Indonesia and Sudan have long been established positively. With this meeting, Kemhan hopes that bilateral relations between Indonesia and Sudan will continue to be maintained well and that the established defence cooperation will benefit Indonesia.
