Indonesia's investment realisation in the first half of 2025 was recorded at Rp950 trillion, with 30 per cent of the total contributed by the downstream processing sector.

CEO of Danantara Indonesia and Minister of Investment and Downstream Processing/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani said the contribution from downstream investment had increased quite significantly.

"The contribution from investment in downstream processing has indeed increased quite significantly. Of the investment that came in during the second quarter, or within one semester, the contribution from the more than Rp950 trillion was approximately 30 per cent from downstream processing," he said at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources building in Jakarta on Tuesday, 22 July 2025.

According to Roeslani, downstream processing would have a major impact in achieving sustainable and quality national economic growth.

He also expressed appreciation for the Downstream Processing Task Force led by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, which had completed pre-feasibility study documents for 18 priority downstream projects with an investment value of Rp618.13 trillion, potentially creating 276,000 jobs.

"And of course, in terms of job creation, as has been conveyed, of the total 18 projects worth approximately Rp618 trillion, they will generate employment for more than 270,000 people," he said.

Roeslani added that these projects would be followed up by Danantara for project finalisation through to downstream processing financing.

"With the pre-feasibility studies having been handed over to us, we will naturally follow up immediately to ensure that the continuity from the pre-feasibility studies to our end can proceed smoothly," he affirmed.
