Indonesia's Investment Realisation in H1 2026 Tops IDR 1,000 Trillion, Absorbs 1.4 Million Workers
Investment Minister and Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani announced that investment realisation throughout the first half of 2026 reached IDR 1,010.6 trillion. The figure increased by 7.2 per cent year-on-year (YoY).
“In the first semester, from January to June 2026, spending by investors in Indonesia reached IDR 1,010.6 trillion, an increase of 7.2 per cent year-on-year,” Rosan told reporters at the Merdeka Palace on Thursday, 16 July 2026.
Rosan explained that the investment value represents 49.5 per cent of the total 2026 investment target of IDR 2,041.3 trillion. Thus, the investment realisation achievement in the first half of 2026 remains in line with the government’s target amid current geopolitical and geoeconomic uncertainties.
“Amid ongoing global geopolitical and geoeconomic challenges, thank God, the commitment of investors to invest directly in Indonesia, or foreign direct investment, is still in line with the target that has been set,” he said.
Rosan stated that with this investment realisation, the number of workers absorbed reached 1.4 million people. This figure increased by 15 per cent compared to the previous year.
“And most importantly, we can see here that the employment absorption reached 1,448,862 people, an increase of approximately 15 per cent compared to the previous year,” he explained.
Based on composition, domestic investment (PMDN) and foreign investment (PMA) were relatively balanced. PMDN was recorded at IDR 502.9 trillion, or 49.8 per cent of the total, while PMA reached IDR 507.6 trillion, or 50.2 per cent.
From a regional perspective, investment in Java reached IDR 502.8 trillion, or 49.8 per cent of total realisation, growing 7.7 per cent year-on-year. Meanwhile, investment outside Java reached IDR 507.8 trillion, or 50.2 per cent, with an annual growth of 6.7 per cent.
Rosan also revealed the five regions with the largest investment realisation in the first half of 2026. DKI Jakarta remained in first place with an investment value of IDR 173.6 trillion, or 17.2 per cent of the national total. The next positions were occupied by West Java with IDR 138.1 trillion, East Java with IDR 72.7 trillion, Central Sulawesi with IDR 68.7 trillion, and Banten with IDR 66.4 trillion.
