Indonesia's Investment Reaches Rp 950 Trillion in First Half of 2025, with 30% from Downstreaming
Jakarta — Danantara Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan Perkasa Roeslani stated that Indonesia's investment realisation in the first half of 2025 reached Rp 950 trillion. Of this total, 30 per cent was contributed by investment in the downstreaming sector.
"The contribution from investment in downstreaming has indeed increased quite significantly. Of the investment that came in during the second quarter, or within one semester, the contribution from the more than Rp 950 trillion was approximately 30 per cent from downstreaming," he said at the handover ceremony of pre-feasibility study documents for priority downstreaming and energy security projects by the Downstreaming Task Force to Danantara at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources office in Jakarta on Tuesday (22 July 2025).
Rosan expressed his appreciation for the Downstreaming Task Force led by Bahlil Lahadalia, which had completed pre-feasibility study documents for priority downstreaming projects encompassing 18 downstreaming projects with a total investment value of Rp 618.13 trillion.
The 18 downstreaming projects cover eight mineral and coal downstreaming projects, three agricultural downstreaming projects, three marine and fisheries downstreaming projects, two energy transition downstreaming projects, and two energy security downstreaming projects.
He said these downstreaming projects would have a significant impact on Indonesia's economic growth. "And of course, in terms of job creation, as previously mentioned, the total 18 projects worth approximately Rp 618 trillion will generate employment for more than 270,000 people," he said.
With the handover of the pre-feasibility study documents for priority downstreaming projects, Rosan affirmed that Danantara is ready to follow up on the documents and ensure the subsequent process runs smoothly. He also stressed the need for intensive cooperation and communication between Danantara and the Downstreaming Task Force team to ensure the process moves more quickly and smoothly.
"Now that the pre-feasibility study has been handed over to us, we will of course immediately follow up to ensure that the continuity from the pre-feasibility study to our end can proceed well," he said.
