Indonesia's Imports Surge 34.27% to US$26 Billion in July, Driven by Oil and Gas
Indonesia’s import value reached US$25.91 billion in June 2026, a 34.27% increase compared to June 2025. The rise was driven by an increase in crude oil imports.
Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics Ateng Hartono stated that oil and gas imports reached US$4.56 billion, a 105.15% year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, non-oil and gas imports totalled US$21.35 billion, up 25.05%.
“The annual increase in import value was driven by non-oil and gas imports, with a 22.17% contribution,” Ateng said during a BPS release on Monday (3/8/2026).
Based on usage, all import categories by use group increased annually in July 2026. The value of consumer goods imports in June 2026 rose 17.46% year-on-year. Imports of raw materials and auxiliary goods, the main driver, increased by 38.94%, contributing 26.94% to total imports. Capital goods imports also rose by 26.53%.
