Indonesia's History Book to Be Publicly Accessible from August 2026

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Culture Minister Fadli Zon confirmed that Indonesia’s History Book will be publicly accessible from August 2026.

‘Yes, publicly accessible from August 2026,’ Fadli said at the Istiqlal Mosque area in Jakarta on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.

Fadli stated that the writing process for the book has been completed. However, it is still undergoing editing before public release.

The Ministry of Culture, led by Fadli Zon, facilitated the launch of the book titled ‘History of Indonesia: National Dynamics in Global Currents’ on 14 December 2025. The book was compiled by 123 historians from 34 universities across Indonesia.

Fadli previously stated that the book would not be sold and would be freely accessible. According to plans, the 10-volume history book will be distributed online via various websites, not in physical form.

‘It will be distributed on the Ministry of Culture’s website and possibly other sites, so it will be easy to access,’ he said.
