Indonesia's Geographical Challenges Strengthen Demand for Modular Space Solutions
The need for residential facilities and operational support spaces that can be rapidly constructed, are flexible, and easily adjusted is becoming a major focus amidst the development of various national industrial sectors. Mining, plantation, construction, and development projects across various regions of Indonesia face geographical challenges and limited access, making the provision of conventional facilities a lengthy and complex process.

Through its participation in the exhibition, Hamure presented a portfolio of modular solutions, ranging from expandable houses and single or double-storey detachable houses to toilets as supporting facilities. These solutions are intended to meet various residential and operational needs, particularly in project areas and industrial sites.
Irhandy explained that the modular approach provides greater freedom for industrial players to plan facility requirements in accordance with business developments. Spaces can be arranged based on initial needs and subsequently expanded, reduced, or relocated according to changes in the scale and activity of a project.
“This concept is also relevant to national development needs, which require more rapid and adaptive support for infrastructure and operational facilities. In the mining sector, for example, the presence of supporting facilities is a vital part of sustaining worker activities and the smooth running of operations on-site,” he explained.
Consequently, he continued, Hamure’s presence at Mining Indonesia 2026 is part of an effort to introduce modular space solutions to mining industry players, contractors, suppliers, and technology providers. The event is also being utilised to open opportunities for collaboration in providing facilities across various operational sites and projects in Indonesia.
However, he noted that the use of modular space is not limited to industrial needs. Irhandy stated that the concept can also meet the needs of the public and the lifestyle sector, which require practical and flexible spaces.
“Beyond project and industrial needs, modular solutions have broader utilisation opportunities. Spaces can be developed for various lifestyle needs, such as cafes, studios, and other functions, according to the creativity and needs of the users,” he said.
