Foreign Ministry spokesperson Yvonne Mewengkang stated that the agreement represents efforts towards de-escalation by both nations. “Of course, the Indonesian government welcomes the two-week ceasefire agreement announced between the United States and Iran,” said Yvonne Mewengkang during a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4/2026). “This development certainly reflects efforts by the relevant parties to keep diplomatic space open in order to promote de-escalation,” she added.
