Indonesia's Exports Reach US$23.20 Billion in May 2026: BPS

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded Indonesia’s export value at US$23.20 billion in May 2026. This figure represents a 5.73% decline compared to the same period last year (year-on-year/yoy).

Ateng Hartono, BPS Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics, stated that the decrease in export value was mainly driven by non-oil and gas exports. He noted that exports of precious metals, jewellery, and gems fell by 59.35%, contributing -2.93% to the total export decline.

The May export value was lower than the US$25.30 billion recorded in June. Cumulatively, exports from January to May 2026 reached US$115.36 billion, an increase of 3.02% compared to the same period the previous year.

On a cumulative basis, the value of oil and gas exports was US$5.17 billion, down 12.71%. Meanwhile, non-oil and gas exports rose 3.89% to US$110.19 billion during the January-May 2026 period compared to the same period last year.
