Jakarta — The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that Indonesia’s exports in January 2026 reached US$22.16 billion, representing a 3.39% year-on-year increase compared to January 2025.

The overall export growth was driven primarily by non-oil and gas exports, which rose 4.38% to US$21.26 billion. In contrast, oil and gas exports declined 15.62%, totalling US$890 million.

“The increase in export value for January 2026 year-on-year was driven by non-oil and gas exports,” stated Ateng Hartono, Deputy Head of Distribution and Services Statistics at BPS, during a press conference at BPS headquarters in Jakarta on Monday, 2 March 2026.

At the end of 2025, Indonesia’s exports demonstrated robust performance, growing 11.64% annually to US$26.35 billion, marking the strongest growth rate since February 2025. This growth reversed the 6.6% contraction recorded in November.

The strong export performance enabled Indonesia to post a trade surplus of US$2.52 billion in the final months of 2025, surpassing the consensus estimate of US$2.45 billion.
