Indonesia's Economy Grows 5.6%, Lemhannas Governor Says Trend Must Be Maintained
We must continue to push for this positive growth trend to be maintained and enhanced in the years ahead,” Ace said while opening the National Seminar on Strengthening National Leadership (P3N) 27 at the Dwi Warna Purwa Room, Lemhannas RI, on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.
The seminar, themed ‘Accelerating Economic Growth to Enhance National Resilience Amid Global Geopolitical Dynamics’, was deemed highly relevant to the current national economic situation. Indonesia’s economy grew by 5.6% in the first quarter of 2026.
This places Indonesia as the second-highest growing economy among G20 nations. The achievement reflects the nation’s robust economic resilience against global uncertainties.
Ace stressed that this positive trend must be maintained in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s guidance during the plenary session at the DPR RI building. The President has set the macroeconomic framework at 5.8% to 6.5%.
“For next year, 2027, President Prabowo stated in his macroeconomic and fiscal policy outline speech at the DPR RI on 20 May 2026 that our economic growth target is set between 5.6% and 6.5%,” Ace emphasised.
To achieve this target, Ace said the government must prepare appropriate strategies and mitigation plans to anticipate geopolitical dynamics while strengthening national resilience through measured, precise, and effective policies. Investment facilitation for investors and inter-ministerial coordination must also be enhanced to strengthen policy synergy in the financial sector.
“We must promote synergy between fiscal, monetary, and financial sector policies to strengthen stability amid global financial market volatility and boost inclusive and sustainable economic growth,” Ace explained.
Ace further urged participants to think creatively and develop concrete strategies to accelerate economic growth amid global pressures, while formulating data-driven policy recommendations for future national economic improvement.
The seminar, held near the conclusion of P3N 27’s education period, featured speakers including Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo, LPS Commissioner Chairman Anggito Abimanyu, Investment and Hilirisasi Deputy Minister/BKPM Deputy Head Todotua Pasaribu, and other experts.
Also in attendance were Vice Admiral TNI Erwin S. Aldedharma, Deputy Governor of Lemhannas RI, and Air Marshal TNI Bob Henry Panggabean, Deputy for National Leadership Education.
