Jakarta – The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), through the National Command Centre for Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026, has reported that consumption of diesel fuel (gasoil) is expected to decline by 14.5% during the Eid travel season.

Erika Retnowati, Head of the National Command Centre for the Energy Sector during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026, stated that throughout the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026 period, the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (BPH Migas) alongside state-owned enterprise PT Pertamina (Persero) have mobilised 125 fuel terminals, 7,888 fuel stations (SPBU) and 72 fuel distribution points (DPPU), with additional facilities deployed in regions experiencing the highest fuel demand.

“Overall, fuel stock resilience remains secure across petrol, diesel, kerosene and aviation fuel,” Retnowati stated during the press conference for the National Command Centre’s Energy Sector on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

Fuel demand projections for the command centre period indicate that petrol consumption is expected to increase by approximately 12% from normal conditions. “Petrol will rise by around 12%, whilst diesel (gasoil) will decline 14.5% from normal conditions. Aviation fuel is projected to increase by 2.8% and kerosene by 4.2%,” Retnowati emphasised.

Meanwhile, for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), the ESDM Ministry, specifically the Directorate General of Oil and Gas and Pertamina, have also prepared 40 LPG terminals, 757 LPG fuel stations (SPBE) and 6,662 LPG agents. LPG stock resilience is projected to remain secure, with LPG availability maintained at stable levels throughout Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, and LPG agents and distribution centres operating round-the-clock, particularly in regions with high demand.

“LPG distribution projections during the command centre period are anticipated to increase by approximately 4% when compared with average normal distribution,” Retnowati stated.
