Indonesia's Defence Minister receives Australian Deputy Prime Minister

Jakarta — Indonesia’s Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin received a visit from Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles at the Defence Ministry building in central Jakarta on Thursday.

Richard arrived at 09.04 WIB. His arrival was immediately greeted by Sjafrie, who was waiting at the front of the main Defence Ministry office building.

During the meeting, Sjafrie wore a cream-coloured suit and white shirt, whilst Richard wore a dark suit and white shirt.

Sjafrie and Richard shook hands before holding a reception ceremony inside the Defence Ministry building.

Neither Sjafrie nor Richard made any statements to the media. At the time of this report, the meeting between Sjafrie and Richard was still ongoing.

The two are expected to discuss several matters, including defence issues and military cooperation.
