Indonesia's Composite Index Opens Brightly, Shares in These Sectors Turn Green
Jakarta, VIVA – The Indonesia Stock Exchange’s (IDX) Composite Index (IHSG) opened 19.84 points, or 0.30 per cent, higher at 6,639.51 this morning.
According to IDX trading data on Tuesday, 8 September 2026, the group of 45 leading shares, or the LQ45 Index, rose 1.31 points, or 0.20 per cent, to 657.73.
The Composite Index’s bright opening this morning was supported by gains across all stock sectors, including energy, basic materials, industrials, non-primary consumer goods, primary consumer goods, financials, property, infrastructure and transportation.
Meanwhile, several shares recorded the sharpest price increases this morning, including SHID, which rose 22.06 per cent to Rp 830; MEDS, up 13.44 per cent to Rp 110; and NATO, which surged 13.44 per cent to Rp 1,435.
As is known, the Composite Index closed 16.81 points (0.25 per cent) lower at 6,619 the previous day. This was accompanied by foreign investors recording a net sell of Rp 678.54 billion. The largest net sells hit TPIA shares at Rp 121.18 billion, CUAN at Rp 87.94 billion, and ISAT at Rp 64.85 billion.
