Indonesia's Challenge to Strengthen AI Ecosystem for Competitiveness

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Chairman of the Artificial Intelligence Industry Research and Innovation Collaboration (KORIKA), Hammam Riza, stated that 2026 is a momentum for Indonesia to encourage the development and utilisation of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to support the country’s position as a digital economic powerhouse in the region. Indonesia has 230 million internet users with a digital economy value that has already reached USD 100 billion and the potential to achieve an AI economy worth USD 180 billion. Therefore, Indonesia needs efforts to drive the development of infrastructure, digital talent and human resources, as well as innovation across various sectors that can create economic value.
