Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s capital market, through corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, has channelled aid for bridge construction in Kampung Cikotak, Desa Cibojong, Kecamatan Padarincang, Kabupaten Serang, Provinsi Banten. This CSR initiative was carried out by the Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) consisting of PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI), PT Kliring Penjaminan Efek Indonesia (KPEI), and PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI), with support from the Financial Services Authority (OJK). “The existence of a bridge in areas like Kampung Cikotak is a vital need that must be a primary concern,” said KPEI Director and Chairman of the 48th Anniversary of the Indonesian Capital Market, Antonius Herman Azwar, in an official statement in Jakarta on Friday. Antonius stated that this bridge construction aid is important to ensure the smooth running of social, economic activities, and educational infrastructure for the community in the area. “It is hoped that this aid can create safer and more adequate infrastructure access, so that the community has better access to education, health services, and economic activities,” said Antonius. His side hopes that this aid can support regional economic growth in Indonesia, strengthen infrastructure in remote areas, and contribute to increased empowerment. In its implementation, Indonesia’s capital market collaborated with Yayasan Sahabat Pedalaman to provide aid in the form of building a sturdier concrete bridge with better construction quality and foundation reinforcement. Previously, the bridge was built in 1940 and only used wooden foundations, so it has experienced damage several times due to flooding. With the construction of a sturdier bridge, it is hoped that it can create safe, decent, and sustainable access for the nearly 15,000 residents of Kampung Cikotak. In addition, it will also encourage efficiency in time and transportation costs, strengthen the local economy, and improve the overall quality of life for the community. The aid was symbolically handed over by Antonius to the Head of Desa Cibojong, Nopallailudin, witnessed by the Executive Head of the Capital Market, Derivative Finance, and Carbon Exchange of OJK, Hasan Fawzi, as well as Acting Director of BEI, Jeffrey Hendrik. It was also witnessed by KPEI President Director Iding Pardi, KSEI President Director Samsul Hidayat, Regent of Serang Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah, Banten Province Representative Rina Dewiyanti, and Director of Yayasan Sahabat Pedalaman Wafiq Zuhair.
