Indonesia's BNN and Russia Strengthen Law Enforcement Capacity Against Narcotics
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s National Narcotics Agency (BNN) is strengthening law enforcement capacity in tackling cross-border narcotics crimes alongside the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
“This includes training in investigation and enforcement techniques, from 6-10 April 2026, in Lido, West Java,” said BNN Chief Commissioner General of Police Suyudi Ario Seto in an official statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
He stressed that international collaboration is key to addressing increasingly complex and transnational narcotics crimes.
“Comprehensive international collaboration, especially in exchanging information and tactical intelligence, is a fundamental key to accelerating the effectiveness of narcotics eradication,” he said.
He hopes the training will enhance the professionalism and capacity of BNN personnel, particularly in dealing with the evolving dynamics of narcotics crimes.
Furthermore, Suyudi stated that the cooperation between Indonesia and the Russian Federation is expected to continue developing, not only through training but also through ongoing information exchange and operational collaboration.
Meanwhile, Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Sergei Gennadievich Tolchenov expressed appreciation for the training, which is being held for the second time.
He hopes the activity will not only become a sustained agenda but also develop into a stronger tradition of cooperation in the future.
“We are very grateful for this training. Efforts to combat narcotics can only be carried out together, and through training like this, we can deepen capabilities and expand cooperation,” said Sergei.
Bilateral relations between Indonesia and the Russian Federation, particularly in narcotics eradication, are growing closer through collaboration between BNN RI and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in organising the training held at the BNN Human Resource Development Centre (PPSDM).
Participants include 37 BNN personnel in the eradication field.
With increasingly strong synergy, both countries are optimistic about narrowing the operational space for international narcotics networks to protect society from narcotics threats.
