“In President Prabowo Subianto’s administration, human resources are a top priority and receive broad attention,” he said at the launch of the 2026–2030 Government of Indonesia–UNICEF Cooperation Program in Jakarta on Monday.

The event marked the launch of the 2026–2030 Country Program Action Plan (CPAP), which outlines continued cooperation between Indonesia and UNICEF.

The partnership began 60 years ago with the signing of the Basic Cooperation Agreement (BCA), implemented through five-year program cycles known as CPAP. The current program marks the 13th cycle.

Over the past five years, the cooperation has delivered significant results in supporting children’s rights, particularly in nutrition, clean water, sanitation, health, hygiene, education, child protection, and social policy.

Key achievements include the distribution of more than 77 million COVID-19 vaccine doses, the establishment of a center of excellence for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, and the return of 105,000 children to school, while protecting 237,000 others from dropping out.

The 2026–2030 cooperation program will cover nutrition, health, education, climate and environmental action, water and sanitation, child protection, and social policy, supported by cross-sector coordination.

Dadan expressed appreciation for UNICEF’s long-standing commitment to advancing children’s rights globally, including in Indonesia.

He noted that the MBG program is a flagship initiative of the Prabowo administration aimed at ensuring children’s right to nutrition from pregnancy through the age of 18.

“Therefore, the government, through the National Nutrition Agency, has allocated what I consider an extraordinary budget to ensure that every child receives their rights,” he said.

To date, around 62 million children have gained access to balanced nutrition under the program, which was launched in 2025.

As of April 2026, the agency has allocated more than Rp60 trillion (approximately US$3.5 billion) for nutritional interventions.

Dadan expressed hope that the long-standing strategic partnership with UNICEF will continue to grow and deliver mutual benefits.
