Indonesia's Best-Selling Hybrid Vehicles in February 2026: Japanese Brands Dominate
Jakarta — Hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) sales in Indonesia showed signs of recovery in February 2026. According to data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Manufacturers (Gaikindo), total factory distribution reached 6,008 units.
In comparison with total national automobile sales of 81,159 units in February 2026, the market share of these environmentally friendly vehicles stood at approximately 7.4 per cent.
Based on available data, Japanese brands demonstrated clear dominance amongst the top 10 best-selling models, with significant representation from South Korean marques and one Chinese representative.
The Toyota Kijang Innova Zenix HEV remained the cornerstone of the hybrid market, recording 2,133 units in sales. However, this figure remained relatively stagnant compared to the previous month at 2,143 units, representing a slight decline of approximately 0.5 per cent.
The second position was held by the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid with 844 units, marking a significant increase from 629 units in January, representing a rise of approximately 34.2 per cent.
The Honda HR-V RS e:HEV followed, having experienced a dramatic surge in sales of up to 212 per cent, increasing from 229 units to 714 units month-on-month.
In fourth position, the Toyota Veloz HEV recorded 484 units, also marking its debut as a new entry. This was followed by the Suzuki Fronx Hybrid with 415 units, representing an increase of approximately 22.4 per cent compared to January 2026, which saw 339 units sold.
