Indonesia's Baznas delivers 74,228 iftar meal portions to Palestine
Baznas Deputy II Imdadun Rahmat said the agency is delivering the food aid in stages to several regions across Gaza, including Khan Younis, Deir al-Balah, Al Mawasi, Al Musaddar, and Al Buraij.
In a statement received on Friday, he explained that the initiative is dedicated to those currently sheltering in refugee camps, which were erected following widespread displacements caused by Israel’s invasion of the Palestinian enclave.
“We hope this program can help bring the warmth and comfort of Ramadan to the people of Gaza by presenting them with warm meals for breaking their fast,” Rahmat said.
He said that Baznas has designated meal distribution to Gaza as an annual program to meet the essential needs of people there during the holy month.
The official stressed that his agency remains committed to providing aid to communities affected by conflicts or disasters, including Palestinians, as part of its responsibility to support humanitarian initiatives.
“We would also like to thank Indonesian citizens who have entrusted humanitarian donations to Baznas. Rest assured, we will distribute the aid strictly to those in need,” he said.
In addition to meals for breaking the fast, he noted that Baznas’ 2026 Ramadan agenda includes health services, clean water, blankets, and tents for living and prayers, with some used as makeshift classrooms for children.
“On behalf of the Indonesian public, Baznas will always be present to bring joy amid hardships. We want to assure those suffering that they are not alone,” he concluded.
