JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto has said that Indonesia's annual investment target has already been reached before the end of 2025. The achievement, he said, was based on a report from Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan P Roeslani.

"I was given a report by the Minister of Investment that Indonesia's investment this month has already reached the target set by last year's state budget, the 2025 state budget. We have already reached the target this August," said Prabowo in his speech at the closing of the Indonesian Solidarity Party Congress, broadcast online on Sunday (20/7/2025).

"Four months before the end of the year. Already achieved," he stressed.

However, Prabowo did not specify the exact figure of investment realisation that had been achieved.

On the same occasion, the President also denied suggestions that Indonesia was in a difficult and bleak condition. He alluded to efforts to make it appear as though Indonesia's economy was failing.

"Efforts to make it seem as though Indonesia is in difficulty, Indonesia is in darkness, Indonesia's economy has failed — brothers and sisters, these are attempts to dampen our spirits, and they are not true," said Prabowo.

Previously, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan P Roeslani stated that the government's investment realisation target for 2025 was Rp 1,905.6 trillion. According to Rosan, the target was in line with economic growth of 5.3 per cent for 2025.

"For 2025, the target is indeed 1,905.6 trillion or a 15.5 per cent increase, in order for us to achieve the government's targeted growth of 5.3 per cent," said Rosan during the presentation of fourth-quarter 2024 investment realisation at the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming offices in Jakarta on 31 January 2025.
