The Middle East situation has intensified following attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel. The Indonesian Embassy in Doha has requested Indonesian residents in Qatar to remain vigilant and avoid outdoor activities.

“Please remain indoors or in a safe location and refrain from activities outside unless absolutely essential. Always monitor Emergency Alert Messages from the Qatari government,” stated the Indonesian Embassy in Doha on its Instagram account, as seen on Saturday (28 February 2026).

The Indonesian Embassy in Doha also requested that each Indonesian citizen in Qatar maintain continuous communication with one another. Indonesian residents are urged to pay attention to official announcements issued by the local government and their respective workplace institutions in accordance with developments in Qatar.

“Contact the Indonesian Embassy in Doha immediately if you face emergencies or require consular assistance,” the embassy stated.

The United States and Israel launched a combined attack on Iranian territory on Saturday morning Iran time. The assault was described as eliminating threats posed by the Iranian regime.

Separate video statements were released by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump, which also appeared to signal support for efforts to change the government in Tehran.

Iran condemned the attacks as a violation of sovereignty. The military promised retaliation and launched retaliatory strikes. Iran subsequently carried out counter-strikes targeting several US military bases in the Middle East.

A series of explosions shook several Arab Gulf nations hosting American military bases on Saturday (28 February) local time. Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Kuwait all reported successive explosions following the US and Israeli attack on Iran.
