I am responding to the Wanita Indonesia murahan (Indonesian
women are cheap) letter published in Forum Keadilan, No.
8/IV/1995. As a native Indonesian, I disagree with how the writer
assesses Indonesian women.

How could the writer make such a generalization? Or does the
writer only come across cheap women, allowing him to conclude
that all women are as such. Or the writer might have had some bad
experiences with Indonesian women and hence looks down on them.

The writer might have lived in America for a long time so that
he is not aware of the fact that most Indonesian women in this
country are of high morality and dignity. The writer views that
women who associate with foreign men are bad women. Many mixed
couples marry out of true love. As an educated person, why does
the writer still believe in racism? Please do not make such
misleading generalizations.
