Indonesian verses golfing legends
JAKARTA (JP): Indonesian amateur golfer Frederik Lekatompessy has qualified to compete against some world golfing legends in the 1996 Australian BMW Golf Cup International Final in Brisbane, Australia, scheduled to start today and end on Saturday.
Lekatompessy, an employee in the communication unit at the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra, qualified for the final after winning a tournament for players with a handicap from 13 to 27 in the Federal Golf Club last May, edging out 100 contenders in the process, Antara reported.
Golfers in the Brisbane tournament will vie for berths in the championship world final round at Fancourt Golf Resort, South Africa, from Nov. 19 to Nov. 24. (amd)
