Indonesian Tech Company Strengthens Regional Position
Competition in Southeast Asia’s technology industry is intensifying amid global economic pressures, geopolitical dynamics, and evolving consumer behaviour. Companies are now required not only to pursue growth but also to build healthy, efficient, and sustainable business models. In this challenging landscape, several Indonesian firms have managed to strengthen their regional presence. One such company is PT Global Digital Niaga Tbk (Blibli), which has once again been included in the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 list for 2026, achieving a higher ranking than the previous year. According to the latest list released by Fortune, Blibli is ranked 228th, climbing 32 places compared to 2025. This position also makes the company the highest-ranked Indonesian entity in the Internet Service Retailing category within the technology sector. The Fortune Southeast Asia 500 is an annual ranking of the largest companies in the region based on revenue for the latest fiscal year. The list spans various sectors across seven countries and serves as an important indicator of business scale and regional competitiveness. Blibli’s improved ranking reflects business performance that continues to grow despite industry pressure to enhance efficiency and profitability. During the 2025 fiscal year, the company recorded net revenue of Rp22.4 trillion, or approximately US$1.36 billion, an increase of 34 percent compared to the previous period. This growth was driven by contributions from various business lines within the company’s ecosystem, including consumer electronics, the business-to-business (B2B) segment, and the expansion of physical store networks supporting its omnichannel strategy. Eric Winarta, Chief Corporate Officer and Investor Relations at Blibli, said the company’s inclusion in the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 is a recognition of the support from customers, partners, investors, and all stakeholders. ‘It is an honour for Blibli to be included again in the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 2026 list alongside leading companies in the region. We extend our appreciation to Fortune for this recognition, which reflects the trust of our customers, partners, and investors,’ said Eric. He added that this achievement encourages the company to continue strengthening its business foundation through operational discipline and creating relevant value for customers and business partners. He noted that the technology industry is entering a phase that demands a balance between expansion and profitability. Therefore, the company will prioritise improving productivity, strengthening margins, cost efficiency, and deeper business ecosystem integration. ‘Going forward, we will remain focused on healthy and sustainable growth through increased productivity, stronger margins, and cost discipline,’ Eric said. Regionally, this achievement also demonstrates the growing contribution of Indonesian companies in shaping the Southeast Asian digital economy ecosystem. With a continuously growing internet user base, a large population, and increasingly widespread adoption of digital services, Indonesia is one of the key markets influencing the direction of the region’s technology industry. In recent years, the focus of investors and industry players has also shifted. Whereas previously user growth and transaction value were the main indicators, attention is now increasingly directed towards companies’ ability to build sustainable, efficient businesses capable of generating long-term profitability. Supported by an ecosystem encompassing online retail services, institutional business, physical store networks, as well as travel and lifestyle services, Blibli is optimistic it can continue to expand its contribution in the domestic market while strengthening its position as an integrated omnichannel technology and commerce player in Southeast Asia.
