Indonesian Students Sweep Awards at EuroMUN 2026 in the Netherlands
PRIDEFUL achievements have once again been etched by Indonesia’s young generation on the international stage. Four Indonesian students have brought home awards from the European Model United Nations (EuroMUN) 2026 held in Maastricht, the Netherlands, from 14-17 May 2026.
EuroMUN is one of the most prestigious Model United Nations conferences in Europe. In its 2026 edition, the event carried the theme ‘Responsibility for the Future, the Power of Dialogue’ and was attended by 250 students from 40 countries worldwide.
Over four days of competition at the Faculty of Law, Maastricht University, Indonesian delegates demonstrated outstanding abilities in negotiating, diplomacy, and public speaking. Here is the list of students who won awards:
One notable achievement was Rebecca Raphael Angelica Simorangkir. The English literature student at Sanata Dharma University won the Best Delegate award in the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC), despite not having a background in International Relations.
‘Although not from an International Relations background, I am very grateful to be able to compete and achieve the best among delegates from various countries,’ said Rebecca. She added that six months of intensive training were the key to understanding the conference agenda and the complexities of negotiation techniques.
In step with Rebecca, Nisriinaa Alyaa of Universitas Brawijaya, who won Best Delegate in the NATO committee, described the experience as a once-in-a-lifetime moment. ‘I am grateful to have achieved the best result in an international-scale competition with all the mentoring provided,’ she said.
In addition to the winners, six other students also participated actively in the event.

EuroMUN (European Model United Nations) is a prestigious UN simulation conference in Europe that trains students in diplomacy, negotiation, and global problem-solving.

Best Delegate is the highest award given to the participant with the best performance, including negotiation skills, mastery of material, and leadership in discussions.
