Indonesian Students' Association Condemns U.S.-Israel Attack on Iran

The Indonesian Students’ Association (IPI) in Iran has condemned the joint attack by Israel and the United States on Iran’s capital Tehran on 28 February 2026. The attack, which killed Supreme Leader Ali Hosseini Khamenei, was described as an act of provocation by the United States and Israel that endangers global peace. The attack targeting civilian facilities and Iran’s territorial integrity is a cowardly act that violates international law and human rights, according to a post on the IPI Iran Instagram account on Friday, 6 March 2026. Indonesian students also expressed condolences for Khamenei’s death, seen as a symbol of resistance to global injustice. For Indonesian students in Iran, Khamenei died as a martyr for defending the oppressed, and his passing inspires them to continue his struggle. Next, Indonesian students expressed support for the Iranian government and people to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty from foreign intervention. The student association believes that resistance to foreign attacks is a tangible act of preserving the dignity of an independent and sovereign nation. The stance is also aligned with the opening preamble of the 1945 Constitution, which states that independence is the right of every nation, and that colonisation anywhere must be abolished because it contradicts humanity and justice. ‘As Indonesian students, we stand firm on the anti-colonial principle and support every nation fighting to defend its homeland from the clutches of modern colonisation,’ said IPI. In closing, IPI stated that they urge the international community not to turn a blind eye to the excesses of the United States and Israel. They also call on all parties to join in opposing all forms of domination that undermine global peace.
