Indonesian State Administration Agency Collaborates with IDOS to Address Public Policy Challenges

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The State Administration Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (LAN RI) is building a collaboration for civil servant (ASN) training with the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) to address public policy challenges. This was stated by the Head of LAN RI, Muhammad Taufiq, during an international seminar conference titled Systemic Impact through Transformative Training in Jakarta on Monday. A total of 95 participants from various countries attended the seminar. “IDOS, MGG (Managing Global Governance) together with LAN was discussed by the Minister of PANRB (Rini Widyantini) regarding how we are currently building policies that are more sensitive and closer to the people, as conveyed by the Minister, called Human-Based Governance,” he said. IDOS has collaborated with LAN for two decades. The current cooperation aims to promote ASN training to enable the implementation of public policies that are closer to society. Taufiq explained that training for ASN uses a transformative learning approach. This approach integrates state institutions or ministries working on public policy through the Ministry of PAN-RB, resulting in outcome-based policy approaches. According to him, the seminar also invites the global community to understand the importance of collaboration in eradicating problems on both national and international scales. “And this is not only done at the national level, but also internationally, as conveyed by the Minister, the importance of building collaboration because issues like poverty, education, and health are no longer national problems, but a global agenda to build a prosperous global society,” Taufiq stated. In addition, he emphasised that the seminar is also a global action in addressing various current problems, such as climate change, poverty, and demographics. “This is an issue we are raising as a shared agenda,” he said. Therefore, his agency, together with IDOS, is establishing programmes that enable ASN to develop their best potential in solving public policy-related problems. “The programmes we will initiate as directed by the Minister include exchanges for teachers, joint research, joint publications, and of course, we will build a network specifically from LAN with various training institutes in different countries,” he said.
