Indonesian Soldier Falls in Lebanon, DPR Commission I Confident RI Will Take Measured Steps
Indonesian TNI soldier Private First Class Farizal Romadhon, serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), was killed due to an Israeli attack in Lebanon. Deputy Chairman of DPR Commission I, Sukamta, is confident that the Indonesian government will take measured steps.
“We believe the state will take appropriate and measured actions, pushing for a transparent investigation process, and ensuring that this incident is followed up through applicable international mechanisms. Indonesia is a nation that upholds peace while safeguarding its honour and dignity. In situations like this, firmness must go hand in hand with wisdom,” Sukamta told reporters on Tuesday (31/3/2026).
This Deputy Chairman of the PKS Faction added that the TNI’s service in the UN peacekeeping mission is a tangible manifestation of Indonesia’s commitment to maintaining global order and stability. Certainly, this event serves as a reminder that the task of keeping peace is not without risks.
Nevertheless, for him, any form of attack on peacekeeping forces cannot be justified and constitutes a serious violation of the principles of international law.
“We convey our deepest condolences over the falling of the TNI soldier in carrying out his noble duty as part of the world peacekeeping mission. May the deceased receive the best place by the side of the Almighty God, and may the family left behind be granted strength and resilience,” he concluded.
