Indonesian snacks enter Saudi Arabia in first export deal
A Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry, Fajarini Puntodewi, said the inaugural shipment by PT Cipta Rasa Food to Saudi Arabia was facilitated through a business matching programme organised by the Indonesian Trade Attache in Riyadh.
“The inaugural exports of this snack product to Saudi Arabia demonstrate that Indonesian products have met global standards. We hope more Indonesian businesses will soon follow,” Puntodewi said in a statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Indonesian Trade Attache in Riyadh Zulvri Yenni said Indonesia has a wide range of high-quality products with strong potential to penetrate the Saudi Arabian market.
“This snack export further demonstrates that Indonesian products meet global standards and are well accepted in the Saudi Arabian market. We are optimistic that more Indonesian products will enter the Saudi market,” Zulvri said.

According to the Trade Ministry’s data, total trade between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia reached US$2.83 billion during the January-June 2026 period, with Indonesia’s exports to the Kingdom amounting to US$1.02 billion.
In 2025, total bilateral trade between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia stood at US$6.53 billion, while Indonesia’s exports to the Kingdom reached US$2.88 billion.
Indonesia’s main exports to Saudi Arabia include vehicles and their parts, animal or vegetable fats and oils, ships and boats, processed food products, as well as wood and wooden products.
Meanwhile, Indonesia’s major imports from Saudi Arabia comprise salt, sulfur, lime, plastics, and plastic products, organic chemicals, various chemical products, and fruits.
