Indonesian Products Prepare to Face New European Union Regulations
PT Sucofindo (Persero), a state-owned enterprise providing surveying and certification services and part of the BUMN Jasa Survei IDSurvey holding, is strengthening its transformation as a global company in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) sector through strategic involvement in TIC Summit 2026 in Brussels, Belgium.
This step forms part of efforts to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global trading ecosystem, including facing the implementation of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) or EU rules relating to deforestation-free products.
Sucofindo’s participation in the international forum also marks an expanding role for Indonesia in the global TIC industry, especially amid rising demands for supply chain transparency, sustainability, and international trade compliance.
“We will continue strengthening our certification and assurance services that support the global halal ecosystem, enhance verification and traceability systems for EUDR implementation, and deliver TIC services capable of helping enterprises meet sustainability and global compliance demands in a more measurable and trustworthy way,” said PT Sucofindo (Persero) President Director Sandry Pasambuna in a press briefing, Friday, 22 May 2026.
The TIC Summit 2026 forum brings together TIC industry players from various countries. TIC Council, as the global association for the TIC industry, serves as a platform for harmonising standards, safety, sustainability, and strengthening trust in international trade chains.
This year, forum discussions focus on the TIC industry’s role in supporting the global sustainability agenda, strengthening supply chain transparency, the energy transition, and the implementation of various evolving international regulations.
“Sucofindo also supports the new leadership of the TIC Council, including strengthening the role of global board members in fostering international collaboration, harmonisation of standards, and the development of the TIC industry to be increasingly adaptable and sustainable in facing future global challenges,” Sandry said.
He noted that involvement in the international forum is also a strategic step to broaden its global network while reinforcing Indonesia’s position in the global trade and sustainable industry ecosystem.
The strengthening of its international position is seen as in line with Sucofindo’s transformation into a world-class TIC company that is not only a conformity assessment body but also a strategic assurance partner in supporting global trade and sustainable development.
“Through enhanced international collaboration and harmonisation of global standards, Sucofindo continues to push up national competitiveness while reinforcing Indonesia’s position in the global industrial and trade ecosystem,” concluded Sandry.
Sucofindo’s business began with inspection and supervision of trade to help the government ensure the smooth flow of goods and the safeguarding of foreign exchange. Over time, the company diversified its services into fields including analytical laboratories, engineering, auditing, certification, assessment, consultancy, training, and other supporting activities.
The services cover sectors including agriculture, forestry, oil and gas, mining, construction, processing industries, maritime, fisheries, transport, new and renewable energy, and information technology.
Currently, Sucofindo operates 93 service points across Indonesia and is supported by a network of 68 laboratories. The network is described as delivering fast, close, and responsive solutions to customers across the archipelago.
