Indonesian processed fruit and vegetable products secure Rp510 million in orders from Chile

The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) has announced that processed fruit and vegetable products as well as tempeh snacks from two Indonesian micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) have secured orders from Chile worth US$29,000, equivalent to Rp510 million.

Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, Fajarini Puntodewi, said that if the products receive a positive response and continue to perform well in the Chilean market, the two UMKM are projected to record additional potential transactions of up to US$29,000.

“This transaction can be the beginning of sustainable long-term cooperation with local buyers. This is in line with the Ministry of Trade’s efforts to increase exports of products to the global market,” said Puntodewi in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Shipments were made from Indonesia in the second week of August 2026. These value-added products are estimated to arrive in Chile in October 2026 for subsequent distribution through retail networks in the country.

The businesses that successfully secured these exports are CV Pangantama Makmur Abadi for mango fruit chips, apple fruit chips, jackfruit chips, broccoli chips and mushroom chips, as well as CV Arva Indonesia for tempeh chips in truffle, honey butter and Himalayan salt basil variants.

The transaction was realised through continued business communication synergised by the Ministry of Trade through the Indonesia Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Santiago with the Indonesian Embassy in Santiago, Chile.

In the January–June 2026 period, total trade between Indonesia and Chile reached US$277.4 million. Indonesian exports to Chile were recorded at US$219.8 million, while Indonesian imports from Chile reached US$57.6 million. Indonesia recorded a surplus against Chile of US$162.2 million.

Throughout 2025, total trade between Indonesia and Chile reached US$534.9 million. Indonesia posted a trade surplus of US$346.8 million, with export value to Chile reaching US$440.8 million and imports from Chile amounting to US$94.0 million.

Indonesian export commodities to Chile in 2025 were dominated by vehicles and parts thereof, footwear, fertilisers, machinery and mechanical appliances, as well as paper and cardboard. Meanwhile, Indonesian imports from Chile included fish and shrimp, wood pulp, fertilisers, fruits and milled products.
