Indonesian President to Watch Naval Parade from Aircraft Carrier Garibaldi

The Head of the Indonesian Navy’s Information Service, Rear Admiral Tunggul, has explained that the aircraft carrier ITS Giuseppe Garibaldi (C551) will make its first appearance during a naval parade in Jakarta Bay waters on 4 October 2026. The event is part of the series of commemorations for the 81st Anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI).

Tunggul stated that Indonesia’s first aircraft carrier will serve as a platform for the President of the Republic of Indonesia and important state guests to observe the procession of naval defence equipment. The TNI Headquarters and the Indonesian Navy Headquarters plan to deploy at least 102 Indonesian warships (KRI) during the sailing pass and fly-past.

“Regarding the sailing pass, which the President of the Republic of Indonesia is planned to attend in Jakarta Bay waters, the Garibaldi ship will be involved in the activity,” Tunggul said when confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday (17/9/2026).
