Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the Indonesian National Police has officially launched digital innovation for key traffic documents as part of its technology-based public service transformation.

The latest innovation introduced is the Digital SIM integrated within the Digital Korlantas Police app. The service aims to simplify public access to traffic documents without the need to carry physical copies.

Launched by Deputy Police Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo, accompanied by Korlantas Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho and relevant stakeholders during the Korlantas Technical Working Meeting at the Mutiara Djoko Soetono Auditorium of the Police Science Institute (STIK Polri) in Jakarta on Friday, 22 May 2026. The digital SIM will undergo trial implementation in several regions across Indonesia.

Police Traffic Directorate Chief Brigadier General Wibowo explained that SIM digitisation is part of the national technology-based public service transformation.

“Through the Digital Korlantas Police app, citizens can store and display their SIM digitally. The data includes owner identity, SIM number, validity period, and a QR code for verification by field officers,” said Brigadier General Wibowo in an official press release received by CNBC Indonesia (27 May).

Deputy Police Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo stated this progressive move reflects the National Police’s commitment to providing transparent, accountable, and easily accessible public services through digitalisation.

Commissioner General Dedi also noted that the SIM Digital launch is the latest innovation from Korlantas Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho in developing the integrated Signal service system.

“The digital services launched today during the Korlantas technical meeting are the SIM Digital. This is the latest innovation by the Korlantas Chief (Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho) in the integrated Signal service system,” said Deputy Police Chief during the SIM Digital and ETLE Drone Mobile launch at PTIK, South Jakarta, on Friday, 22 May 2026.

The SIM Digital system is designed to integrate various driving document services for public convenience. Beyond SIM, the system will also integrate STNK renewal and BPKB processing in the future.

ETLE Drone Mobile

Alongside administrative ease via SIM Digital, Korlantas Polri has strengthened road law enforcement with the launch of ETLE Drone Mobile. The technology addresses gaps in violations not covered by static ETLE systems.

According to the Deputy Police Chief, ETLE Drone Mobile has two key advantages that make it more effective in the field.

“This system can dynamically capture potential traffic violations across various road sections. Additionally, the ETLE Drone Mobile can capture facial recognition,” he explained.

The integration of vehicle identification and facial recognition systems is connected to existing data centres. This advanced technology is specifically implemented to minimise errors during traffic enforcement.

“To avoid mistakes in traffic enforcement, verification can be done using facial recognition. Yes, this is an exceptional step,” added the Deputy Police Chief.
