The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has successfully repatriated an Interpol Red Notice (IRN) fugitive, Indonesian citizen Michael Steven, the boss of Kresna Life insurance, from the Kingdom of Morocco through an extradition mechanism. Secretary of NCB Interpol Indonesia at Polri’s Divhubinter, Brigadier General Pol. Untung Widyatmoko, explained in Jakarta on Monday that Michael Steven is a suspect in a case involving alleged capital market crimes, fraud, embezzlement, and money laundering (TPPU), handled by the Directorate of Special Economic Crimes (Dittipideksus) of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) Polri. He was arrested by Moroccan Police on 12 March 2026 at the request of the NCB Interpol Indonesia Secretariat. The handover process took place on Saturday (20/6) in Morocco before the suspect arrived in Indonesia on Sunday (21/6). Following his arrest, Michael will be handed over to Dittipideksus Bareskrim Polri for further legal proceedings. Untung stated that this successful extradition demonstrates Polri’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation and taking firm action against criminals who attempt to flee abroad. He previously noted that efforts were underway to apprehend and repatriate PT Asuransi Jiwa Kresna (Kresna Life) owner Michael Steven, as well as PT Asuransi Jiwa Adisarana Wanaartha (Wanaartha Life) owners Manfred Armin Pietruschka and Evelina Fadil Pietruschka, as part of the pursuit of fugitives in the financial services sector.
