The Mobile Brigade Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Satresmob Bareskrim Polri) has arrested TS, alias Ki Bedil, in connection with the sale of illegal firearms for 20 years in West Java. “Operated for 20 years, only now arrested,” said the Head of Satresmob Bareskrim Polri, Commissioner Police Arsya Khadafi, in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Sunday. Arsya explained that Ki Bedil is known as an expert in making illegal firearms of the revolver or pistol type. “Most buyers are street crime perpetrators and illegal hunters,” he added. Therefore, he stated that the arrest is part of the serious efforts by Polri to eradicate the circulation of illegal firearms that could disrupt public security and order. Meanwhile, he explained that the arrest of Ki Bedil stemmed from an enforcement operation on Monday, 6 April 2026. At that time, Polri made an arrest at Warung Nasi Ampera, Jalan Raya Cipacing, Jatinangor Subdistrict, Sumedang Regency, West Java. At the location, the team arrested a suspect with initials AS, who is suspected of acting as an intermediary or broker in the illegal firearms trade. The team then seized several pieces of evidence, including one SIG Sauer P226 pistol complete with magazine, one unfinished long-barrelled weapon sample, two rounds of .22 calibre ammunition, as well as other items such as a black jacket and a fishing bag. Based on the initial examination of AS, he said, the team then conducted further investigation by dividing personnel into two groups. The first team moved to the suspect’s residence in Rancaekek Kulon, Bandung Regency, West Java. At that location, police found various types of ammunition in significant quantities, from bullets of various calibres, projectiles, to equipment such as drill bits suspected to be used in the weapon-making process. The second team conducted further investigation in Rancaekek Wetan, Bandung Regency. The team then succeeded in securing another suspect named TS or Ki Bedil. From TS’s hands, police seized four long-barrelled weapon barrels, as well as several tools used to assemble firearms.
