Nabire (ANTARA) - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Yan P Mandenas has appreciated the digital innovation developed by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Nabire in collaboration with Papuan youth to improve oversight of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme via the SiapMBG.com portal.

Mandenas in Nabire on Monday stated that the application represents a significant step forward in enhancing transparency and accountability in the implementation of the MBG programme, both for the government and the public.

“This is a good application because it can serve as a control tool. All data can be viewed openly; it’s just a matter of updating it regularly to keep it accurate,” he said.

He emphasised the importance of routine data updates, covering lists of schools, Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) kitchens, managing foundations, human resources, and the number of beneficiary students.

According to him, this data openness allows the public, local governments, and parents of students to monitor the daily implementation of MBG.

“If there are problems, they can be seen immediately. Parents can also monitor, including the circulation of the MBG kitchen budget,” he said.

He also encouraged BGN to expand the socialisation of the application’s use so that its benefits can be felt more widely by the public.

BGN Nabire Regional Coordinator Marsel Asyerem explained that this innovation is part of efforts to strengthen programme oversight through the MBG Programme Administration Information System (SiapMBG.com).

“There is an innovation carried out by Papuan youth that we have accommodated through BGN Nabire to support the implementation of the MBG programme,” he said.

The digital portal is designed to monitor various aspects of the programme comprehensively and in real time, from financial reports, daily operations, to human resource performance in SPPG.

“Through this application, we can see financial transactions, shopping needs, distribution, to the number of beneficiaries and schools served,” he said.

The information in the system can be accessed openly by the public as a form of transparency in managing the MBG programme budget sourced from the state budget (APBN).

Thus, the implementation of the MBG programme in Nabire can be directly monitored by anyone, including the central BGN and even the President.

He mentioned that the development of the application involved native children of Nabire with expertise in information technology, including those who studied outside the region and worked at global technology companies.

According to him, this collaboration demonstrates the capacity of Papua’s young generation in bringing innovations to support national strategic programmes.

“We want to show that Papuan youth are capable of making significant contributions while addressing the transparency needs of government programmes,” he said.
