Indonesian Navy Strengthens Defence Cooperation with Pakistan Navy
The Indonesian Navy, through its Second Fleet Command, is strengthening military cooperation with the Pakistan Navy. The collaboration was discussed during a visit by a Pakistan Navy delegation led by Commodore Anwar Saeed, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff, to the Second Fleet Command headquarters in Ujung, Surabaya, on Thursday (25/6). The meeting was confirmed by the Head of the Second Fleet Command Information Service, Colonel Antonius Februar Prima Hadi, in Jakarta on Friday. “This meeting serves as a momentum to strengthen communication and exchange views regarding developments in the strategic maritime environment, while also enhancing the well-established bilateral relationship,” Antonius stated. He noted that both parties exchanged perspectives on the strategic maritime landscape, with discussions progressing towards plans to increase defence cooperation between Indonesia and Pakistan in protecting territorial waters. However, Antonius did not elaborate on the specific points of cooperation discussed during the meeting between the two naval leaders. The warm meeting concluded with an exchange of plaques between the two sides. Antonius expressed hope that the meeting would further strengthen the relationship between the Indonesian Navy and the Pakistan Navy, allowing them to complement each other in reinforcing maritime defence.
