Indonesian Navy Reports Successful Soybean Harvest of 4 Tonnes Per Hectare

The Head of the Indonesian Navy’s Information Service, Rear Admiral Tunggul, stated that the Navy has successfully harvested between two and four tonnes of soybeans in various areas. This soybean harvest is the result of processing idle lands undertaken by the Indonesian Navy as part of a food security programme.

To provide an overview, certain Navy-managed lands, such as in Lampung, which are scheduled for harvest in October 2025 across 30 hectares, are capable of producing 4 tonnes of soybeans per hectare, Tunggul told Antara in Jakarta on Saturday. Meanwhile, in Nganjuk, East Java, involving 400 hectares of land, the estimated harvest yield is between 1.5 and 2 tonnes per hectare, he added.

According to Tunggul, the successful harvest conducted by Navy personnel is part of an effort to implement orders from the Ministry of Defence, which has requested the Navy to focus on soybean cultivation.
