Personnel from the Indonesian Navy Marine Corps, specifically from the Marine Reconnaissance Detachment 1 (Denipam 1 Mar), have conducted combat swimming exercises to enhance their operational capabilities at sea and along coastlines. According to an official press release issued on Friday, the activity took place in Anpend Ancol, North Jakarta, on Thursday (30/7).

The Head of the Marine Corps Information Service, Colonel (Mar.) Rana Karyana, confirmed to ANTARA in Jakarta that during the training, soldiers performed combat simulations involving swimming from the sea towards the shoreline. Throughout the process of swimming from the sea to executing beach assault operations, personnel are required to possess high levels of physical strength and intense concentration.

According to Rana, these attributes are essential to ensure that all planned operational targets can be completed swiftly and accurately. “This training also requires every soldier to maintain communication, formation, and speed while moving beneath the water’s surface,” he stated.

He noted that the entire training process proceeded smoothly and safely, with all soldiers remaining unharmed as they adhered to established safety standards. Through these exercises, he hopes the capabilities of the Indonesian Navy Marines will increase, ensuring greater readiness in carrying out national defence missions. “This is Denipam 1 Marine’s commitment to forming disciplined, resilient, and professional soldiers to support the success of the Marine Corps and the Indonesian Navy,” Rana concluded.
