Indonesian Navy Conducts Manoeuvres and Evacuation Drills in Balikpapan Waters
The Indonesian Navy conducted naval manoeuvres and evacuation drills in Balikpapan waters, East Kalimantan, on Tuesday (26 May) to enhance soldiers’ capabilities in mission execution.
According to a press release from the TNI Headquarters Public Affairs Centre issued on Thursday, the activity was carried out by elements of BKO Guspurla Koarmada II.
Commander of Guspurla Koarmada II, Rear Admiral Endra Hartono, stated exercises must continue to improve unit and personnel readiness to handle dynamic field tasks.
The Indonesian Navy deployed two warships, KRI Bung Hatta-370 and KRI Teluk Kupang-519, and one HS-1302 helicopter for the exercise.
TNI AL Public Affairs Chief Rear Admiral Tunggul said the drills were conducted with safety standards to ensure personnel and military equipment safety.
All exercise sessions were completed smoothly with no casualties among personnel or equipment.
Tunggul confirmed the exercises will continue to ensure all naval defence elements are prepared for their duties.
