The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has ensured that the selection process for the 2026 Police Academy (Akpol) cadets will be conducted professionally. All participants are guaranteed equal opportunities without any special privileges.

Assistant Chief of the National Police for Human Resources, Inspector General Anwar, emphasised that this recruitment prioritises the principles of being clean, transparent, accountable, and humanist (BETAH). “What I always convey and repeat is that this recruitment uses the BETAH principle. All participants have the same opportunity,” stated Inspector General Anwar in a statement on Monday (8/6/2026).

Anwar explained that the selection process has currently entered the second stage of medical examinations (Rikkes II), which took place on 5-6 June 2026. A total of 513 participants, consisting of 468 men and 45 women, were declared successful in advancing to this stage.

He also emphasised that this year, Polri is only opening a single entry point via the national regular track. A strict knockout system is being applied at every stage of the selection process. “There are no special quotas, achievement tracks, ‘titipan’ (proxy) tracks, special treatment, or additional quotas. I am stating that none of those five things exist,” said Anwar.

Anwar ensured that Polri is committed to a selection process free from practices of corruption, collusion, and nepotism (KKN). Consequently, strict supervision is being conducted by both internal and external parties. He reiterated that the 2026 Akpol intake is strictly limited to the national regular track, with no other pathways such as special quotas or headquarters-specific quotas.

Furthermore, Anwar noted that the recruitment pattern has been monitored and assessed to meet the expectations of the public and oversight institutions, including the National Police Commission (Kompolnas), the Ombudsman, and various NGOs. He has instructed the Polri Public Relations division to disseminate this information extensively to prevent the public from being misled by false information regarding ‘backdoor’ entry routes. “The dissemination of this information to leadership and the public, both internally and externally to Polri, is intended to ensure the 2026 Akpol selection proceeds according to the BETAH principles and further increases public trust in the Polri recruitment process,” he concluded.
