An Indonesian national was among four crew members killed after Houthi forces attacked the commercial vessel Tihamah in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, Anadolu reported. The ship, which was carrying food supplies, was struck by three ballistic missiles while transiting the strategic waterway, causing a fire and material damage. The other three fatalities were Pakistani nationals, and four additional crew members were injured.

Yemen’s Ministry of Transport stated that Houthi forces launched another missile towards the vessel while rescue teams were attempting to reach the crew, an act it said was aimed at disrupting the rescue operation and increasing the number of casualties. A member of the rescue team was also reported injured.

The ministry condemned the attack as a ‘terrorist crime’ and warned that targeting commercial ships carrying food supplies threatens the delivery of essential goods to millions of Yemenis, both in government-controlled areas and regions under Houthi control. The ministry described the assault as part of an escalating Houthi campaign targeting ports, civilian infrastructure, and commercial vessels serving the region.
