Indonesian Muslim Students Union Schedules Congress in Banten
JAKARTA – The Steering Committee (SC) for the 9th Congress of the Indonesian Muslim Students Union (SEMMI) has closed the stage for collecting nomination forms for prospective general chairmen on Wednesday (10/6/2026). This is part of the election process for the Chairman of the SEMMI Central Board for the 2026-2029 period. Deputy Coordinator of the 9th SEMMI Congress SC, Awaludin Santjuba, observed that enthusiasm among cadres was quite high, with 10 cadres having taken the nomination forms. The deadline for returning the forms is set for 1 July. This stage is an important part of the selection process for figures who will compete at the 9th SEMMI Congress in Banten Province, scheduled for 21 to 24 July 2026. “Furthermore, prospective candidates who have taken the forms are given time to complete and return all nomination requirements. The SC for the 9th SEMMI Congress has set 1 July 2026 as the deadline for returning the forms before administrative verification is carried out in accordance with applicable regulations,” said Awaludin in a statement on Friday (12/6/2026). Awaludin explained that the 9th SEMMI Congress carries the theme ‘One SEMMI Realising Asta Cita’. The event serves as the organisation’s highest consultative forum to determine the direction and leadership of SEMMI for the next period. Awaludin stressed that the entire selection process is conducted transparently and in accordance with the organisation’s internal regulations. “The nomination process is carried out based on the organisational mechanisms stipulated in the congress regulations,” he said.
