Indonesian Musicians Must Go International, Says Boy Rafli Amar

The Ikasman 37 alumni association will hold a ‘Harmoni untuk Negeri’ (Harmony for the Nation) concert featuring Kirribilly, Cakra Khan, and Astrid at Deheng House, Kemang, South Jakarta, on Thursday, 30 July 2026. The concert is being held to support Kirribilly’s upcoming performance at the International Beatleweek 2026 in Liverpool, England, this August.

Ikasman 37 Chairman and former Head of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT), Commissioner General (Ret.) Boy Rafli Amar, stated that the concert carries a message of unity, tolerance, and togetherness. He emphasised that Ikasman 37, as part of civil society, is compelled to actively contribute to the narrative of fostering harmony amidst Indonesia’s diversity of ethnicities, religions, races, and cultures.

Boy Rafli Amar described music as a universal language capable of building unity and togetherness within the global community. He noted that Kirribilly’s performance in Liverpool is not merely a musical act but a mission to introduce Indonesia on an international level. He expressed pride that an Ikasman 37 member, Biwodowidito ‘Dikky’ Witoradyo, is part of the band and has been invited to perform at the prestigious International Beatleweek 2026.

‘This is not just about playing music, but also carrying a mission as Indonesian music ambassadors who will make the nation proud on the international stage. Indonesian musicians must go international,’ Boy Rafli Amar asserted. Ikasman 37’s Public Relations representative, Debie Dahlia, added that the support for Kirribilly is a form of contribution from the alumni organisation towards the achievements of the nation’s youth, hoping this momentum will inspire others that Indonesian talent can compete and be appreciated on the world stage.
